July 2, 2015, Forestport, NY: Today, Ampersand Hydro LLC (“AHL”) completed the acquisition of the 2.9 MW Forestport hydroelectric power generating station. This asset is part of a larger portfolio involving three additional projects which AHL acquired over the last three months. These include the 400 kW Kayuta Lake, the 850 kW Christine Falls, and the 3.7 MW Ogdensburg hydroelectric projects. All four assets are located in Upstate New York. AHL now controls and operates 16 hydroelectric stations across the Northeastern US totaling 28.6 MW, with one additional station under development.
“The successful completion of the acquisition of this hydro portfolio is the result of months of extensive due diligence and intense negotiations by AHL staff. The projects fit well into AHL’s existing New York footprint”, Lutz Loegters, Director of Business Development, states. AHL will continue the relationships with most of the existing operations staff to enable smooth transitions and retain site-specific knowledge. Local operating staff will be supported by Ampersand’s New York based operations company, Ampersand New York Operations Co. (“ANYOC”). The management of the projects will shared by AHL asset managers Jason Huang and Ian Chow.« Back to the news
